Kidsuper kicks off world cup fashion fusion in miami

Colm Dillane, founder of brand KidSuper, is bringing Paris fashion Week to the soccer pitch in Miami next month with an unconventional World Cup-inspired menswear show.

The spring 2027 runway is set for June 25 at the Nu Stadium, home of Inter Miami CF, where Dillane aims to welcome an audience of 2,500 soccer fans and fashion enthusiasts. The show will coincide with key World Cup matches in Miami, ensuring a lively crowd.

Dillane's affinity for soccer, which he played competitively since childhood, has guided the concept for this season's collection. Each look is loosely inspired by one of the 48 qualified World Cup nations, developed in collaboration with an artist from that place. Models will represent each country, reflecting the global spirit of the tournament.

Grandmothers unite the world

In a nod to the multicultural heart of New York City, where he grew up, Dillane cast 37 grandmothers from around the world to model the collection's 48 colorway remixes of BAPE's Bapesta shoe, each representing a participating nation.

The grandmothers, found through connections in the soccer community, embody the intergenerational connections and diasporic communities that soccer fosters. Their presence underscores the global language of the beautiful game and its power to unite people across cultures.

More than a fashion show

Dillane envisions an immersive experience that blends the energy of a soccer stadium with the excitement of a fashion show. Expect live music, performances, fireworks, and possibly even vuvuzelas. To produce the event, he's collaborating with fashion students from nearby Istituto Marangoni Miami, who may even strut their stuff on the catwalk.

For those unable to attend the Miami spectacle, the show will be live-streamed to a Paris venue at 2am local time, allowing fashion fans and World Cup enthusiasts to experience the fusion from afar.
