Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are developing a scripted drama series for Netflix, set in the world of polo, the sport beloved by British royals.

Royals meet gossip girl in upcoming netflix show

The streamer, in partnership with the Sussexes' production company Archewell Productions, is teaming up with the duo behind Gossip Girl and The O.C., Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, for an “upstairs-downstairs drama set in Wellington, FL, revolving around the messy dynamics between two rival polo teams and the families that lead them.”

This isn't the first rodeo for the Duke and Duchess, who previously produced the documentary series Polo. Harry's passion for the sport is well-known; he was a polo player and still competes in charity matches, like last December's St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship in Aspen.

This marks another collaboration between Netflix and the royal couple, following last year's Harry & Meghan and the highly scrutinized With Love, Meghan, a lifestyle and cooking show. Despite speculation that their creative partnership had ended after Netflix pulled out of Meghan's brand As Ever and didn't renew With Love, Meghan, the polo drama adds to their existing projects under their first-look deal with Netflix.
